چکیده

Objective: The objective is to compare robotic sacral colpopexy (RSC) utilizing autologous fascia lata with RSC synthetic mesh in the treatment of pelvic organ prolapse (POP). Methods: We performed a prospective nonrandomized case comparison trial at single institution. compared either or women symptomatic POP, stages II through IV. primary outcome was anatomic recurrence determined by Pelvic Organ Prolapse Quantification (POP-Q) examination. Secondary outcomes included patient-reported such as Urogenital Distress Inventory-6 (UDI-6) and Incontinence Impact Questionnaire-7 (IIQ-7). Complications were also recorded categorized using Clavien–Dindo (CD) system. hypothesis that would provide equivalent while eliminating mesh-related complications. Results: Sixty-four underwent 19 (29.7%) receiving graft. overall operative time greater group mean harvest 24.8 ± 7.4 minutes. Intragroup comparisons groups demonstrated significant improvement measurements well outcomes. Intergroup success rates 12.1 8.7 months follow-up. There one apical failure group; however, difference not statistically (p = 0.30). Significant complications two CD-II CD-IIIb. In there erosion requiring surgical excision (CD-IIIb). Conclusion: This first between mesh. Short-term similar use without risk erosion. Morbidity from graft site trivial. These results emphasize need for randomized controlled trial.

A randomized controlled trial comparing fascia lata and synthetic mesh for sacral colpopexy.

OBJECTIVE To compare the objective anatomic outcomes after sacral colpopexy performed with cadaveric fascia lata and polypropylene mesh. METHODS Patients undergoing a sacral colpopexy were randomized to receive either fascia lata or polypropylene mesh in a double-blinded fashion. Data were collected at 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year postoperatively. The main outcome measures were pel...

Autologous fascia lata for heart valve replacement.

To obviate the drawbacks of prosthetic devices and in search of a better substitute for diseased heart valves a technique of using autologous fascia lata grafts attached to a support frame was developed. The technique of preparing mounted fascia lata grafts is briefly outlined and their surgical implantation into the mitral, tricuspid, and aortic areas is described. Since April 1969, 83 fascial...

Autologous fascia lata cardiac valve replacement.

Prosthetic cardiac valve replacement has been carried out at Brugmann University Hospital since 1962. In a series of 370 valvular replacements, operative and hospital deaths have attained a low rate (5%). The overall survival of 70% is comparable to that of most published series. Late thromboembolic complications, in spite of longterm anticoagulant therapy, remain the principal disadvantage of ...

Long-term success of abdominal sacral colpopexy using synthetic mesh.

OBJECTIVE The aim was to determine the minimum meaningful study period required for prospective trials involving sacral colpopexy. STUDY DESIGN This is a retrospective analysis of 245 patients who underwent sacral colpopexy. Postoperative pelvic organ prolapse quantitation was our objective end point. In an effort to control for selection bias, patients who returned for postoperative examinat...

Aortic valve replacement with frame - mounted autologous fascia lata

Between June 1969 and August I970, 8o patients, aged 22 to 63 years, had lone aortic valve replacement with frame-mounted autologous fascia lata. The operative mortality was 3.8 per cent. Seventy-seven survivors have been followed for 3 to 4 years and 50 have had postoperative investigation. There have been 8 subsequent deaths, 3 from infective endocarditis, 4 from aortic regurgitation, and one...
